A Summer of Reading Dangerously: Gender Queer

Jun 28, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Hamilton-Wenham Public Library (+ Zoom) 14 Union St, South Hamilton, MA 01982, USA

Combat sweeping book bans with a summer of reading dangerously. Join us as we discuss the topics and themes that make each book "dangerous" and write letters to the legislatures that have banned them. All meetings will be held at 6:30 PM, in the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library and via Zoom.

Initially conceived as a way of explaining eir gender queer identity to eir family, Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe has become one of the most banned books in the country today and a touchstone in queer literature.

Gender Queer explores themes of gender and sexual identity.
