The State of Marriage Equality

September 18 | 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Fenway Health

Panel discussion on marriage equality moderated by Globe Opinion columnist Renée Graham.

Twenty years ago, seven Massachusetts couples made history as the first same-sex partners in the nation to marry legally. It was the result of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s landmark decision in Goodridge v. Department of Public Health, and in 2015, the rest of the United States followed when the Supreme Court ruled the Constitution guarantees an equal right to marry. But is the future of marriage equality guaranteed? Or, like Roe v. Wade, will it be another casualty of a conservative-led high court that might seek to overturn it?
