All are welcome!

The LGBTQIA+ community has a long rich history in the world, in the United States, and in our local communities. We want to honor the people, individually and collectively, who worked to make life better for us!

We are proud to bring you this event in which YOU can share your own stories, and the stories of people and events you have witnessed, for True Story Theater actors to reenact.

  • Have you encountered bias or discrimination—and done something about it?

  • Were you a part of the first school GSAs established in our community?

  • Were you part of a local LGBTQIA+ social or family group in the 1900s or early 2000s?

  • Were you part of the first local gay/lesbian weddings?

  • Were you among the first openly LGBTQIA+ people to be elected to office?

  • Were you involved in the controversy about the school diversity bag—the case that went all the way to the Supreme Court?

  • Were you part of the #YesOn3 campaign to preserve civil rights for transgender people in public accommodations?

  • Did you participate in or witness the formation of LexPride and its early programming?

Come share these and other stories—and talk about how they impacted you and our community.

Sponsored by LexPride, Lexington Historical Society, Lexington Senior Services, Arlington Council on Aging, Arlington LGBTQIA+ Rainbow Commission—and featuring True Story Theater. Funded by a grant from the Dana Home Foundation.
