Meet up for volunteer opportunities with the alliance

Please join us for an informal coffee/ meet up to learn about volunteer opportunities with the Alliance. Specifically, we are looking for new members to join the Belmont LGBTQ+ Alliance leadership team.

Help make Belmont a safe, welcoming, inclusive community for all. Our goal is to create a town in which LGBTQ+ individuals can thrive. We organize education opportunities and community events, raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues locally and nationally, and partner with community organizations and local businesses.

Leadership Team members’ responsibilities include:

*Attending Alliance Meetings-- once a month online for 1.5 hours.

And helping with some of the following activities:

*Maintaining/Cultivating Relationships with schools/school administrators, teachers and Genders and Sexualities Alliances with LGBTQ+ students; elected officials; town/community organizations (library, police, fire departments, library, Beech Street Center), and businesses.

*Supporting our Belmont Welcomes Initiative to ensure that Belmont businesses are welcoming to LGBTQ+ individuals.  See: www.belmontlgbtq.com/belmont-welcomes 

*Helping Organize and Publicize Events and Activities: Set up/ clean up, decorations

  • WINTER GET TOGETHER, Community Meeting with BAR via Zoom - FEBRUARY

  • TRANS DAY OF VISIBILITY - MARCH 31

  • FUNDRAISER FOR HISTORY UNERASED CURRICULUM (K-12 LGBTQ-inclusive US history curriculum)

  • BELMONT TOWN DAY

  • PRIDE PARADE - JUNE

  • NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY - OCTOBER 11

  • OCTOBER SOCIAL

  • TRANS DAY OF REMEMBRANCE - NOVEMBER 20
