One of the primary predictors of positive mental health outcomes among LGBTQ+ adolescents and young adults is their support networks. Immediate and extended family can profoundly impact the wellbeing of queer youth. While most people have good intentions, it's easy to get stuck in not knowing how exactly to provide support. In this webinar, attendees will be presented with foundational information and specific action steps that can be taken to play a more active, supportive role in affirming LGBTQ+ youth.

Wendy P. Bamatter, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for adolescents and young adults. She is currently the Program Director at the 3East Cambridge Residence at McLean Hospital. In addition to working with individuals struggling with pervasive emotion dysregulation and high-risk behaviors, Dr. Bamatter is committed to offering affirming care to LGBTQ+ youth and supporting their families.

This event is cosponsored by the Beech Street Center and the Belmont LGBTQ+ Alliance.
